Engagement Photoshoot at Exmouth Beach - Devon
We were delighted when Dan and Rheannon booked us for their wedding photography, having talked to them briefly about their plans (at two wedding fairs) we got on really well and we're looking forward to the big day in 2014.
The happy couple were keen on the idea of an engagement shoot so that they could get a taster for how we work aswel as having pictures to celebrate their engagement with for save-the-date cards.
Rheannon's background as a graphic designer meant that she had an artistic eye for the style of shoot that she wanted and between her and (husband to be) Dan they decided on a romantic beach theme. We decided that an early morning shoot would give us better light and less people so we met up at 8.00am on Exmouth beach, Devon.
As with any engagement photoshoot, we always try to capture all the details. The ring, people, locations and activities are all important factors.
We see an engagement photography session as an opportunity to find out how you interact with each other, what makes you laugh and what makes you like each other in the way that you do. It's a chance for both parties to suggest ideas, and should always feel relaxed and easy.
We like trying to find alternative angles for shots wherever it's suited. In the above example lying down through some beachy grass and below we shot from directly above the couple as they took a well earned rest.
Exmouth beach was a fantastic location for this pre-wedding/engagement shoot and starting at 8.00am meant that it was really calm and relaxed. Dan and Rheannon had mentioned that they weren't the most confident people infront of the camera but soon warmed to it as the morning progressed.
Congratulations to Rheannon and Dan once again on their engagement. See you at the wedding in 2014!
