Darling Brides of May - Part 2 - Wedding Hair and Make-up
This is part two of a blogpost showcasing the Hair and Make-up looks created by Jai and her team in Devon, Somerset and Bristol during May 2013.
Emma (above) chose to work with the natural wave in her hair to create height and soft curls that were brought away from the face and finished off with a beautiful wired hair piece that as placed around the crown of the head. Her bridesmaids opted for the increasingly popular reverse plait along the front hair that is bang on trend and helps to keep any pesky fly-aways off the face all day! Their hair was then curled and swept into a side pony tail which were accessorised with white flowers and pearl pins which added an extra focus and lift to the style.
With a flawless complexion Emma's porcelain skin was accentuated with the use of the BareMinerals(TM) make-up creating a radiant complexion all over. Her stunning eyes were made the dominant feature with the application of soft natural shimmer on the eyelids and liquid black eyeliner.
The bridesmaids chose a similar theme for their make-up with the addition of a slightly smoky feel to the shadow to enhance their natural eye colours.
Tracy wanted an up-do that was elegant and timeless from both the front and back. Jai created a traditional vertical roll style that was enhanced with the addition of 3 diamante pins that ran along the line of the roll and that exactly match Tracy's other jewellery pieces. Tracy also wore a stunning leaf design slide that sat to the side of her head that was secured on a hair band buried into the hair which added interest from the front.
Brown and gold eye shadow was used on Tracy's eyed to bring out her multifaceted hazel-green eyes with berry pink lip stain used to create a splash of colour on the lips.
Tracy decided early on in her wedding planning process how she wanted her 3 daughters to have their hair on the wedding day but with ages ranging between 8-18 it was important that Jai and her team created hairstyles that were not only similar but that individually matched the age of each bridesmaid. In order to do this the main difference between the 3 girls was the amount of volume each of them had at the roots. The 2 younger girls were kept with a more natural lift whilst the older bridesmaid, Tabitha, was given a bit of added lift at the crown.
All three bridesmaids had their hair curled and pinned into a side ponytail that draped don their right hand side. The style was given extra detail with the use o a twist at the back that featured diamante pins. Each bridesmaid then also had diamante flower design hair clips placed behind the ear to give it even more sparkle.
